Saturday Discovery…in the world of music

So here I am eating a turkey and bacon sammich, and tooling around on the laptop - bored, oh yeah you could say so. The dialog of a Barbie Princess (and yes, it IS Martin Short playing the villian) movie playing the background along with merry musings of both my boys building something out Imaginext.

But, as I was cruising through Amazon’s mp3 downloads (no DRM, decent prices - did I mention NO DRM?), I found myself looking in the International section, listening to some pretty fun Buena Vista Social Club (mental list, # 5) and then I found something that caught my eyes. It was a lullaby version of Bob Marley tunes. It wasn’t as good as I thought it might be (granted I only listened to a few songs), but something way better caught my eye lower on the screen.

It’s no secret I like Radiohead (well at least in my own little universe), and there it was. A Rockabye Baby! Lullaby Renditions of Radiohead. So I gave it a listen - oh how I wish I had a baby to justify the purchase of that album. There’s others too, like one for The Cure, Coldplay, Pink Floyd - even Led Zeppelin!

Well that’s my discovery for today - I also recommend checking out that album Buena Vista Social Club by Buena Vista Social Club, it’s pretty good!

Here’s a link to all 25 albums.

Someone, I think Jory’s brother or maybe it was even Jory found those Lullaby CD’s online shortly after I found out I was pregnant. We were going to purchase the one with Led Zeppelin (obviously) but wanted to wait until we had bought everything we were going to NEED for the baby….then of course things didn’t go the way they should have and I totally forgot about it until Jory found them again a couple months ago and they had quite a few Led Zeppelin lullaby songs, so maybe I’ll have to go buy it now. Thanks for the reminder. Kiss the kids for me!

Well I had thought about sending you a message, but I wasn’t sure how you’d feel, so I thought I’d leave it the way I did - but I’m happy you had heard of them, and I immediately thought of you when I came across the Led Zeppelin ones…

So I just followed your link to the lullabys and was shocked to find it’s different then the ones we found which were $48 for 1 CD (which is why we waited to purchase them)…the Led Zeppelin on Amazon is only $7.99 CRAZY!
I’ll be downloading them when I get home tonight for sure!

    Thanks again!

pps….the pics of the kids with their birthday count downs are FREAKING hilarious! When I first saw them up there, I didn’t even notice that they all look down trodden…like someone just told them they will never again experience a warm summer day…non stop winter for the rest of their lives. dun dun DUN!

hahaha yeah I noticed that the other day…I was like “could I find any worse pictures of them”

Maybe I’ll put some new ones out later once we have some.
