So there we are playing with a bluetooth barcode scanner. Some asks what type of barcodes it’s reads, and someone says 3 of 6, someone else says 2 of 5…(do you know where this is going?)…
I pipe up and say “I bet it likes 7 of 9, I sure do” (7 of 9 was a hotty on star trek voyager) .
The barcode scanner actually reads interleaved 2 of 5 (plus some others).

I was cruising through Digg today and came across this nugget of greatness. I guess Clear Channel decided that it would be better if some songs weren’t played due to 9/11 (I don’t know if it’s still enforced) but here’s a list of what was suggested not to play on any of their stations.
166 Songs

On Saturday, we had the opportunity to watch The Messiah. Yep, Handel’s Messiah. I had never been to a production of it and really had no idea what it was about.
Was I in for a treat!
Let me give a slight bit of background and context. This was a matinée, it was suppose to be shorter. It turned out that there was a lot of younger visitors. So because of that, one of the conductor’s sons sang the base part - he also happens to be my oldest son’s art teacher (the other brother is in our church). Also, the conductor dressed up as Handel (no one seemed to know he was going to do that). We also were treated to a spanish translation along with, and I think this was the best part, a performance for the hearing impaired.

Yeah, someone - and I won’t mention names cough cough **Joey** suggested I join up on twitter.com. I wasn’t sure I wanted to before, but for some reason I just went ahead and signed up. Got a me a nice little plugin that shows them here on the sidebar, and so when we go on our trip to Saint George next week, maybe I’ll update during it.

I was hoping to have timed it better, but it just didn’t work out. I know, this post is almost a week old too (well that I should have written it a week ago). But I just can’t stand it anymore.
Sometime ago I recall Stephen King saying he would rather work with TV rather then movies, in context with his stories. When I first heard that I thought “What? No way, you can’t get all the gore and stuff on TV”. I wish I could find a quote of it, but this was years ago, and before the internet took off in any way, shape or form (like early 90’s). At any rate, I still hold to what I thought back then. It just wouldn’t work, he remade The Shinning for TV and, well it rightly sucked, same with his TV version of It. I was sorely disappointed and it just added to my growing dislike for his “progression”.

I’ll disclaim this (only for myself), refined white sugar is horrible for you. Same with those chemicals in diet soda. So personally while it may be true that it contains liquid which hydrates you, and the since I couldn’t find the technical data behind it to show the trade offs, I’ll still maintain that soda is a horrible replacement for water.
I’m gonna get a little gross here and speak of urine. This will also show how bad I am at taking care of my self too…
Since I tend to drink soda all day, I have a bit of experience in this. Urine is a window into your dehydration. If it’s darker that means there’s more urea in it (Mercedes Benz has developed a urea injected diesel motor, there’s urea in fertilizers too - granted it’s all Bull urea but still…), less water, dehydration.
