It’s rather cute when my little girl gets up when I’m still home, she’ll yell “Daddy, Daddy - I’m up, I want out”. So I’ll go get her and bring her into my room so she can lay next to her mommy. This morning, she woke up and I went and got her, she wanted a kiss before I left and after that I was getting my vest on, and giving her funny looks.
She said “Daddy, I want to goto sleep please” meaning, “I’m done with you, get out you’re keeping me awake”. You gotta love her though, she’s a cutey!

So I started reading John Adams

I’m only a bit into it, but something struck me this morning. He is quoted as saying (during a trial in 1770 I think, for the the commander of a group of English soldiers) , that “any man in a free country deserves a fair trial” [paraphrased]. It got me thinking about how it works today, which isn’t how it work.

Now Reading - not pretty

Alright, I can get the library back, but it’s not pretty. Not pretty URLs I mean. It’ll work, but not with well formed urls like the rest of the site. It livable, but not perfect.

Wordpress 2.5 - almost perfect

Well I did it, I upgraded to 2.5 and everything went smooth…
Except, for the “Now Reading” plugin. Which really blows, I love that plugin and the Library that it has, but it seems all the permalinks are broken.
I’ll keep updating as they come, and I really hope I can get it work!

Barcodes and nerd humor

So there we are playing with a bluetooth barcode scanner. Some asks what type of barcodes it’s reads, and someone says 3 of 6, someone else says 2 of 5…(do you know where this is going?)…
I pipe up and say “I bet it likes 7 of 9, I sure do” (7 of 9 was a hotty on star trek voyager) .
The barcode scanner actually reads interleaved 2 of 5 (plus some others).

I was cruising through Digg today and came across this nugget of greatness. I guess Clear Channel decided that it would be better if some songs weren’t played due to 9/11 (I don’t know if it’s still enforced) but here’s a list of what was suggested not to play on any of their stations.

Yeah, someone - and I won’t mention names cough cough **Joey** suggested I join up on twitter.com. I wasn’t sure I wanted to before, but for some reason I just went ahead and signed up. Got a me a nice little plugin that shows them here on the sidebar, and so when we go on our trip to Saint George next week, maybe I’ll update during it.
